Sprint Official ROM Update 3.56
Ok, well for the past few days I have started college again so I have been a bit busy, but during that time I was able to update my phone with Sprint’s new official ROM. The biggest change in the update? Windows Mobile 6.1.I must say, I love this update. One of my favorite features is the threaded text messaging. You could install this on WM 6.0 before but you had to install a cab file from another device. It really seems to keep my texts more organized. Internet explorer now has a zooming capability, nothing like Opera but it makes it slightly more usable. GPS now works out of the box for apps like TomTom, as opposed to before when you needed a launcher to activate it. Also, the memory management seems to have improved a ton. Before I could barely run 2 programs before running out of RAM, now I can run 6-7 and still smoothly switch between them. Sprint TV also works officially now, and it seems to be a bit faster and also does not automatically switch screen orientation like the old CAB file I had. Overall the entire device just feels snappier and more responsive, I definitely recommend this update if you have Sprint.

Be warned though that it is a ROM update so it will completly wipe your device. Also be sure you have at least 50% battery so that it doesn’t cut out during the install.
when you updated your phone, when you use too many programs does it close other programs? Is that a way to manage memory?
Yes that is one way that Windows Mobile manages memory, and before the update I would only open about 2 programs before it starts closing other programs, but now I can run at least 6-7 without it closing any of them.
